URBANA — Sexual assault is a significant concern on college campuses across the country, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is no exception. This month, the University of Illinois Police Department issued three Campus Safety Notices informing the campus community of three sexual assault incidents. URBANA – Following the president’s executive order on immigration, the University of Illinois Police Department’s first priority continues to be the safety and academic success of all students, faculty and staff. UIPD is reminding students and others who may be affected by the order that officers do not inquire about anyone’s immigration status. Additionally, UIPD does not arrest anyone solely based on their immigration status and does not act on detainers issued by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE). No injuries in small helicopter crash at Willard Airport
SAVOY, Ill. – No one was hurt Wednesday in a small helicopter crash at Willard Airport. Emergency crews responded to the crash at 1:38 p.m. Wednesday. Two were aboard a small training helicopter – both the student and the pilot were examined by medical crews on scene and released with no apparent injuries. The majority of emergency crews had cleared the scene by 2:30 p.m. and no flights in or out of Willard Airport were affected.
