Police agencies to hold women’s career fair
CHAMPAIGN – Police in Champaign County are teaming up to recruit more female officers for the county’s law enforcement agencies. Everyone is encouraged to attend a career fair on Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Parkland College Student Union Building. Women who are employed as police officers and deputies in Champaign County will be present to answer questions about employment opportunities, give demonstrations and talk about a career in law enforcement. Campus officials publish annual Clery report
URBANA – The Division of Public Safety and Campus Code Compliance and Fire Safety on Tuesday announced the publication of their Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, which they hope campus community members will review to increase their own awareness of public safety issues at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Three new U. of I. Police officers graduate from academy
URBANA – Three new University of Illinois police officers have completed their 12 weeks at the Police Training Institute in Champaign, and one of the officers received the class’ highest honor during a graduation ceremony on Thursday. Two of the new police officers might be familiar faces to campus community members – Taylor Franzen and Ed Chevere are joining U. of I. Social media scammers target students with fake jobs
CHAMPAIGN – Police are again reminding students to use discretion when seeking employment – especially through social media – as scammers have been targeting University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign students. The University of Illinois Police Department and the Office of Student Financial Aid have received multiple reports of students who have been contacted by a fraudulent employer seeking monetary donations. Police remind community, fans of football procedures
URBANA — With a unique Friday night home opener to kickoff the Fighting Illini football season, the University of Illinois Police Department wants to remind University employees and football fans of the traffic patterns and parking lot regulations that will be in effect on Sept. 4. Kickoff between the Fighting Illini and Kent State is at 8 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. It is expected that football fans will arrive much earlier than that for tailgating activities.
