URBANA, Ill. – The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on Tuesday published its Annual Security and Fire Safety Report, which is intended to increase public awareness of safety trends on campus. The report, which is available at http://police.illinois.edu/clery, includes statistics from the previous three years concerning reported crime that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Traffic advisory: Street closures to accommodate Friday night game
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini football team plays at 8 p.m. Friday, which means that campus street closures will take effect earlier in the day. Some Friday commutes will be disrupted by these weekday closures, so motorists are urged to plan ahead if their routes are affected. Kirby Avenue between First and Fourth streets will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. Friday. Police will be watchful for bicycle law violations
URBANA – Police officers from the University of Illinois Police Department will be particularly watchful during the next week for traffic violations that put bicyclists at risk. Special traffic enforcement details will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 13, and Tuesday, Sept. 18. Officers will be conducting the enforcement details at the intersections of Green and Wright streets and of Goodwin Avenue and Illinois Street. UIPD announces Community Police Academy

Campus community members will have the opportunity to sign up for the academy in either the fall or spring semester. Traffic advisory: Use caution on St. Mary’s Road
URBANA, Ill. – Motorists should be particularly careful on St. Mary’s Road near the Campus Rec fields for the next couple weeks while the Fighting Illini football team holds training camp. U. of I. Police will be using special patrols on St. Mary’s Road this week and next watching for people driving faster than the 25 mph posted speed limit. The area is more congested than normal as visitors – including children – come to watch the Fighting Illini practice.
