Juvenile arrested for weapons violations following early morning Illini-Alert

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A juvenile was arrested early Sunday morning for weapons violations following reports of two armed individuals making threats. University of Illinois Police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Fifth Street, Champaign, at 12:37 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23. Officers arrived in less than two minutes. Early morning armed robbery prompts Illini-Alert notification

CHAMPAIGN, Illinois – An early morning armed robbery in Campustown prompted an Illini-Alert notification.  University of Illinois Police officers were dispatched to Taco Bell, 512 E Green St., Champaign, around 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, for reports of an armed robbery.  Officers arrived on scene within one minute and learned that a man had allegedly brandished a weapon while attempting to steal food from the restaurant before fleeing the area.  Responding officers searched the immediate area but were unable to locate the suspect, prompting a campuswide Illini-Alert emergency notification sent to all students, faculty, and staff. Early-morning fight prompts Illini-Alert

URBANA, Illinois – An early-morning altercation prompted an Illini-Alert emergency notification.  Around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, University of Illinois Police officers responded to The Canopy Club, 708 S Goodwin Ave, Urbana, to assist the Urbana Police Department with a fight in progress.  When UIPD officers arrived, there was no active fight, and people were leaving the area.  Officers learned that an individual allegedly brandished a firearm during the altercation and subsequently fled the scene, which prompted the Illini-Alert emergency notification.  UIPD officers searched the area while Urbana Police officers continued their investigation.
